Gender Pay Gap

Our gender pay reporting, and the actions we are taking as a tutoring employer.

Our reporting

All UK employers with 250 or more staff must publish gender pay gap figures. We publish ours voluntarily, because transparency matters to the families and tutors we work with.

What the gap measures

The gender pay gap is the difference in average hourly pay between men and women across the whole organisation. It is not the same as equal pay: we pay men and women the same for the same role, and we review our pay scales every year to make sure that stays true.

Our figures

Our workforce is majority female, and the majority of our senior centre leadership roles are held by women. Where a gap exists it is driven by the mix of roles and hours worked, including part-time tutoring.

What we are doing

  • Publishing pay bands for every tutoring role.
  • Reviewing starting salaries so that negotiation does not decide pay.
  • Offering flexible and hybrid working so that caring responsibilities do not limit progression.
