Six weeks out: a GCSE maths revision plan

Six weeks is enough time to move a grade if the work is targeted. It is not enough time to re-learn everything, so choose deliberately.

Weeks 1–2: close the biggest gaps

List the five topics that cost the most marks in the last mock. Spend three sessions on each, using worked examples then independent practice.

Weeks 3–4: timed sections

Twenty-minute sections under real conditions, then mark them with the official scheme. Keep a running list of errors and revisit the top three.

Week 5: full papers

Two full papers, on separate days, at the same time of day as the real exam. Include the breaks.

Week 6: consolidate, don't cram

Short recall of formulae, light practice on strong topics, and early nights. New material this week creates anxiety without adding marks.

An hour a day, planned in advance, beats five hours the night before.
